The mission of Life Skills Prep, LLC - Urgent Care for Your Career Plus® is to empower youth and young adults for a successful future through life skills preparation. The Plus component’s mission is to educate teens, and adults on the selection of appropriate clothing for all occasions, enabling them to be stylish and confident.

Dr. Janet
Dr. Janet L. Kiley is an educator who believes that no one should ever lose the desire to learn and grow regardless of age in an ever-changing world. Having held various positions from teacher to central office in New York public schools and equipped with numerous educational accomplishments, Dr. Janet is well-prepared to educate others in the areas of life and career skills and as a Dressucation Dr.® how to develop and portray an appropriate image.
Motivated by her doctoral dissertation research findings, Dr. Janet became aware that appearance biases are prevalent across all fields. Appearance is within everyone's control to an extent, so why not present our best selves at all times?
Working with business and industry associates and as a chairperson and member of many interview committees have afforded Dr. Janet with direct knowledge of the characteristics and qualities that a successful applicant must possess. She also realizes that today’s youth and young adults would benefit from much-needed life and career skills as they navigate through a complex web of experiences as would those seeking a new or more rewarding career.
Helping others reach their full potential has always been a passion of Dr. Janet’s, which is the reason she became an educator. Fashion has also been a lifelong passion for her. As a child she enjoyed putting together matching outfits and grew up understanding that every occasion called for different types of clothing. Always regarded as a sharp dresser and later a “fashionista”, Dr. Janet attributes some of it to attending the Ophelia Devore School of Charm as a teen where she learned about fashion, etiquette and how to “pull it all together” as a lady. She has always had an eye for fashion and later acquired the ability to quickly assess an individual’s appearance, making mental notes of the changes that would enhance his/her overall look.
Combining her two passions, education and fashion, Dr. Janet created Life Skills Prep, LLC-Urgent Care for Your Career PLUS® .
Using her experience and education as an entrepreneur furthers her efforts of enabling others to become their best, confident selves.
