In today’s world it is impossible to avoid using technology for many of our everyday tasks, a fact that became evident, sometimes painfully so during the pandemic; especially for older adults. Cell phones and computers became a lifeline for some, and Apps like Zoom, FaceTime and WhatsApp became more popular than ever for professional, social, and telehealth visits. Understanding how to navigate websites to purchase groceries and other essentials became a much- desired skill. Even after things return to “normal”, these forms of communication and e-commerce will remain and be utilized more than during pre-pandemic times. In order to be relevant, happy, healthy, social, and increase overall independence, learning technology is a MUST for our older population of adults!
